There are two points in his continual prayer: the first that Paul may be reunited with the Thessalonians, the second that he may supply what is lacking in their faith. The verb katartizō means ‘to make complete’, and it is used of such an activity as mending nets (Matt. 4:21), though in the New Testament it is more often metaphorical.
