PSALM 112

Prosperity of the One Who Fears the Lord.

1 1Praise 2the Lord!

How ablessed is the man who 3fears the Lord,

Who greatly bdelights in His commandments.

2 His 1adescendants will be mighty 2on earth;

The generation of the bupright will be blessed.

3 aWealth and riches are in his house,

And his righteousness endures forever.

4 Light arises in the darkness afor the upright;

He is bgracious and compassionate and righteous.

5 It is well with the man who ais gracious and lends;

He will 1maintain his cause in judgment.

6 For he will anever be shaken;

The brighteous will be 1remembered forever.

7 He will not fear aevil tidings;

His bheart is steadfast, ctrusting in the Lord.

8 His aheart is upheld, he bwill not fear,

Until he clooks with satisfaction on his adversaries.

9 1He ahas given freely to the poor,

His righteousness endures forever;

His bhorn will be exalted in honor.

10 The awicked will see it and be 1vexed,

He will bgnash his teeth and cmelt away;

The ddesire of the wicked will perish.

PSALM 113

The Lord Exalts the Humble.

1 1Praise 2the Lord!

aPraise, O bservants of the Lord,

Praise the name of the Lord.

2 aBlessed be the name of the Lord

From this time forth and forever.

3 aFrom the rising of the sun to its setting

The bname of the Lord is to be praised.

4 The Lord is ahigh above all nations;

His bglory is above the heavens.

5 aWho is like the Lord our God,

Who bis enthroned on high,

6 Who 1ahumbles Himself to behold

The things that are in heaven and in the earth?

7 He araises the poor from the dust

And lifts the needy from the ash heap,

8 To make them asit with 1princes,

With the 1princes of His people.

9 He amakes the barren woman abide in the house

As a joyful mother of children.

PSALM 114

God’s Deliverance of Israel from Egypt.

1 When Israel went forth afrom Egypt,

The house of Jacob from a people of bstrange language,

2 Judah became aHis sanctuary,

Israel, bHis dominion.

3 The asea looked and fled;

The bJordan turned back.

4 The mountains askipped like rams,

The hills, like lambs.

5 What aails you, O sea, that you flee?

O Jordan, that you turn back?

6 O mountains, that you skip like rams?

O hills, like lambs?

7 aTremble, O earth, before the Lord,

Before the God of Jacob,

8 Who aturned the rock into a bpool of water,

The cflint into a fountain of water.
