31 Once more a remnant of the kingdom of Judah

will take root below and bear fruit above.

32 For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant,

and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty

will accomplish this.

31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah

Shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant,

And they that escape out of mount Zion:

The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

31 And you who are left in Judah,

who have escaped the ravages of the siege,

will put roots down in your own soil

and grow up and flourish.

32 For a remnant of my people will spread out from Jerusalem,

a group of survivors from Mount Zion.

The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

will make this happen!

31 And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah

Shall again take root downward,

And bear fruit upward.

32 For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant,

And those who escape from Mount Zion.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

31 Some of the people in the family of Judah

will escape.

Like plants that take root,

they will grow strong and have many children.

32 A few people will come out of Jerusalem alive;

a few from Mount Zion will live.

The strong love of the Lord All-Powerful

will make this happen.’

31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. 32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of mount Zion they that shall escape. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward; 32 for out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of mount Zion they that escape: the zeal of Jehovah of hosts shall do this.

31 Those few people from the nation of Judah who escape will again take root and produce crops. 32 Those few people will go out from Jerusalem, and those who escape will go out from Mount Zion. The Lord of Armies is determined to do this.’ 

31 The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward. 32 For a remnant will go out from Jerusalem and survivors, from Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.’

31 The surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward; 32 for from Jerusalem a remnant shall go out, and from Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

31 And the remnant of the house of Judah that remain shall grow roots downwards and make fruit upwards.

32 For a remnant shall go out from Jerusalem

and survivors from mountain Zion.

The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.’

31 The people of Judah who are still alive will be like plants.

Once more they will put down roots and produce fruit.

32 Out of Jerusalem will come those who remain.

Out of Mount Zion will come those who are still left alive.

My great love will make sure that happens.

I rule over all.

31 “The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward.

32 “For out of Jerusalem will go forth a remnant and out of Mount Zion survivors. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” ’
