6 The realm of the dead is naked before God;

Destruction lies uncovered.

5 Dead things are formed

From under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

6 Hell is naked before him,

And destruction hath no covering.

The place of destruction is uncovered.

Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.

6 Sheol is naked before God,

And Abaddon hath no covering.

5 The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof; 6 Sheol is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.

5 “The souls of the dead tremble beneath the water, 

and so do the creatures living there. 

6 Sheol is naked in God’s presence, 

and Abaddon has no clothing.

the waters and their inhabitants.

and Abaddon has no covering.

5 “The spirits of the dead tremble

below the waters and their inhabitants.

6 Sheol is naked before him,

and there is no covering for Abaddon.

5 “The spirits of the dead are suffering greatly.

So are those that are under the waters.

And so are all those that live in them.

6 Death is naked in the sight of God.

The Grave lies open in front of him.
