32 I weep for you, as Jazer weeps,

you vines of Sibmah.

Your branches spread as far as the sea;

they reached as far as Jazer.

The destroyer has fallen

on your ripened fruit and grapes.

33 Joy and gladness are gone

from the orchards and fields of Moab.

I have stopped the flow of wine from the presses;

no one treads them with shouts of joy.

Although there are shouts,

they are not shouts of joy.

32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer:

Thy plants are gone over the sea,

They reach even to the sea of Jazer:

The spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab;

And I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses:

None shall tread with shouting;

Their shouting shall be no shouting.

32 “You people of Sibmah, rich in vineyards,

I will weep for you even more than I did for Jazer.

Your spreading vines once reached as far as the Dead Sea,

but the destroyer has stripped you bare!

He has harvested your grapes and summer fruits.

33 Joy and gladness are gone from fruitful Moab.

The presses yield no wine.

No one treads the grapes with shouts of joy.

There is shouting, yes, but not of joy.

33 Joy and gladness are taken

From the plentiful field

And from the land of Moab;

I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses;

No one will tread with joyous shouting—

Not joyous shouting!

32 I cry with the people of the town of Jazer

for you, the grapevines of the town of Sibmah.

In the past your vines spread all the way to the sea,

as far as the sea of Jazer.

But the destroyer has taken over

your fruit and grapes.

33 Joy and happiness are gone

from the large, rich fields of Moab.

I have stopped the flow of wine from the winepresses.

No one walks on the grapes with shouts of joy.

There are shouts,

but not shouts of joy.

32 With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah: thy branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of Jazer: upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage the destroyer is fallen. 33 And gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to cease from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting.

33 Joy and gladness have disappeared from the orchards and fields of Moab. 

I will stop the wine flowing from the winepresses. 

No one will stomp on grapes with shouts of joy. 

There will be shouts, but not shouts of joy.

Your tendrils have extended to the sea;

they have reached to the sea and to Jazer.

The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruit and grape harvest.

33 Joy and celebration are taken from the fertile field

and from the land of Moab.

I have stopped the flow of wine from the winepresses;

no one will tread with shouts of joy.

The shouting is not a shout of joy.

He will not tread with exuberant shouts.

Exuberant shouts will not be exuberant shouts.

32 I sob over you as Jazer sobs,

you vines of Sibmah.

Your branches used to spread out.

They went all the way down to the Dead Sea.

They reached as far as the sea of Jazer.

The one who destroys your country

has taken away your grapes and ripe fruit.

33 Joy has left your orchards.
