1 Then I said,

“Listen, you leaders of Jacob,

you rulers of Israel.

Should you not embrace justice,

2 you who hate good and love evil;

who tear the skin from my people

and the flesh from their bones;

1 And I said:

Hear, you heads of Jacob

and rulers of the house of Israel!

Is it not for you to know justice?—

2 you who hate the good and love the evil,

who tear the skin from off my people

and their flesh from off their bones,

1 I said, “Listen, you leaders of Israel!

You are supposed to know right from wrong,

2 but you are the very ones

who hate good and love evil.

You skin my people alive

and tear the flesh from their bones.

1 And I said:

“Hear now, O heads of Jacob,

And you rulers of the house of Israel:

Is it not for you to know justice?

2 You who hate good and love evil;

Who strip the skin from My people,

And the flesh from their bones;

1 Then I said,

“Listen, leaders of the people of Jacob;

listen, you rulers of the nation of Israel.

You should know how to decide cases fairly,

2 but you hate good and love evil.

You skin my people alive

and tear the flesh off their bones.

1 And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice? 2 ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

1 And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know judgment? 2 Ye who hate the good, and love evil; who pluck off their skin from them, and their flesh from off their bones;

1 Then I said: 

Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the nation of Israel. 

You should know justice. 

2 You hate good and love evil. 

You strip the skin off my people and the flesh off their bones. 

1 Then I said, “Now listen, leaders of Jacob,

you rulers of the house of Israel.

Aren’t you supposed to know what is just?

2 You hate good and love evil.

You tear off people’s skin

and strip their flesh from their bones.

1 And I said:

Listen, you heads of Jacob

and rulers of the house of Israel!

Should you not know justice?—

2 you who hate the good and love the evil,

who tear the skin off my people,

and the flesh off their bones;

1 And I said,

“Listen, O heads of Jacob

and leaders of the house of Israel!

Is it not for you to know justice?

2 Those of you who are haters of good

and lovers of evil,

who tear their skin from them

and their flesh from their bones,

1 Then I said,

“Listen, you leaders of Jacob’s people!

Pay attention, you rulers of Israel!

You should know how to judge others fairly.

2 But you hate what is good.

And you love what is evil.

You are like someone

who tears the skin off my people.

You pull the meat off their bones.

1 And I said,

“Hear now, heads of Jacob

And rulers of the house of Israel.

Is it not for you to know justice?

2 “You who hate good and love evil,

Who tear off their skin from them

And their flesh from their bones,
