11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.

11 For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you?

11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?

11 For Jesus knew who would betray him. That is what he meant when he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing?

11 Jesus knew who would turn against him, and that is why he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

11 For he knew him that delivered him up: on account of this he said, Ye are not all clean. 12 When therefore he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, having sat down again, he said to them, Do ye know what I have done to you?

11 (Jesus knew who was going to betray him. That’s why he said, “All of you, except for one, are clean.”) 

12 After Jesus had washed their feet and put on his outer clothes, he took his place at the table again. Then he asked his disciples, “Do you understand what I’ve done for you?

11 For He knew who would betray Him. This is why He said, “You are not all clean.”

12 When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His robe, He reclined again and said to them, “Do you know what I have done for you?

11 Jesus knew who was going to hand him over to his enemies. That was why he said not every one was clean.

12 When Jesus finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes. Then he returned to his place.

“Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.

11 For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12 So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
