7 When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens

and darken their stars;

I will cover the sun with a cloud,

and the moon will not give its light.

8 All the shining lights in the heavens

I will darken over you;

I will bring darkness over your land,

declares the Sovereign Lord.

9 I will trouble the hearts of many peoples

when I bring about your destruction among the nations,

among lands you have not known.

10 I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you,

and their kings will shudder with horror because of you

when I brandish my sword before them.

On the day of your downfall

each of them will tremble

every moment for his life.

7 When I blot you out, I will cover the heavens

and make their stars dark;

I will cover the sun with a cloud,

and the moon shall not give its light.

8 All the bright lights of heaven

will I make dark over you,

and put darkness on your land,

declares the Lord God.

9 “I will trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries that you have not known. 10 I will make many peoples appalled at you, and the hair of their kings shall bristle with horror because of you, when I brandish my sword before them. They shall tremble every moment, every one for his own life, on the day of your downfall.

7 When I blot you out,

I will veil the heavens and darken the stars.

I will cover the sun with a cloud,

and the moon will not give you its light.

8 I will darken the bright stars overhead

and cover your land in darkness.

I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!

9 “I will disturb many hearts when I bring news of your downfall to distant nations you have never seen. 10 Yes, I will shock many lands, and their kings will be terrified at your fate. They will shudder in fear for their lives as I brandish my sword before them on the day of your fall.

7 When I put out your light,

I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark;

I will cover the sun with a cloud,

And the moon shall not give her light.

8 All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you,

And bring darkness upon your land,’

Says the Lord God.

9 ‘I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known. 10 Yes, I will make many peoples astonished at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.’

7 When I make you disappear,

I will cover the sky and make the stars dark.

I will cover the sun with a cloud,

and the moon will not shine.

8 I will make all the shining lights in the sky

become dark over you;

I will bring darkness over your land,

says the Lord God.

9 I will cause many people to be afraid

when I bring you as a captive into other nations,

to lands you have not known.

10 I will cause many people to be shocked about you.

Their kings will tremble with fear because of you

when I swing my sword in front of them.

They will shake every moment

on the day you fall;

each king will be afraid for his own life.

7 And when I shall extinguish thee, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light. 8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord Jehovah. 9 I will also vex the hearts of many peoples, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known. 10 Yea, I will make many peoples amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars thereof black; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. 8 All the bright lights of the heavens will I make black over thee, and bring darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord Jehovah. 9 And I will vex the heart of many peoples, when I bring the news of thy destruction among the nations, into the countries that thou hast not known. 10 And I will make many peoples amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid at thee, when I brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, each one for his life, in the day of thy fall.

7 “ ‘When I put out your light, I will cover the sky and darken the stars. I will cover the sun with clouds, and the moon won’t shine anymore. 8 I will darken all the lights shining in the sky above you. I will bring darkness over your land, declares the Almighty Lord. 

9 “ ‘I will make many people troubled when I spread the news of your destruction among the nations to countries that you haven’t heard of. 10 Many people will be shocked by what I will do to you. Their kings will shudder when I swing my sword in their faces. When you die, all of them will tremble in fear for their own lives.

7 And I will cover you at extinguishing your heavens,

and I will make dark their stars,

and I will cover the sun with the cloud,

and the moon will not give its light.

8 All sources of light in the heavens,

I will make them dark over you,

and I will put darkness on your land,’ ”

declares the Lord Yahweh.

9 “And I will disturb the hearts of many peoples

to countries that you do not know.

10 And I will cause many peoples to be awestruck over you,

and their kings will shudder over you in horror,

at my brandishing my sword before their faces,

and they will tremble continually,

each person for his life,

on the day of your downfall.”

7 When I wipe you out,

I will put a cover over the heavens.

I will darken the stars.

I will cover the sun with a cloud.

The moon will stop shining.

8 I will darken all of the bright lights

in the sky above you.

I will bring darkness over your land,”

announces the Lord and King.

9 “The hearts of many people will be troubled.

That is because I will destroy you among the nations.

You had never known anything about those lands before.

10 Many nations will be shocked

when they see what has happened to you.

Their kings will tremble with fear

when they find out about it.

I will get ready to use Nebuchadnezzar

as my sword against them.

On the day you fall from power,

each of the kings will tremble with fear.

Each will be afraid he is the next to die.”

7 “And when I extinguish you,

I will cover the heavens and darken their stars;

I will cover the sun with a cloud

And the moon will not give its light.
