Revelation 16:3–9

The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and uit became like the blood of a corpse, and vevery living thing died that was in the sea.

The third angel poured out his bowl into wthe rivers and the springs of water, and xthey became blood. And I heard the angel in charge of the waters1 say,

y“Just are you, zO Holy One, awho is and who was,

for you brought these judgments.

For bthey have shed the blood of csaints and prophets,

and dyou have given them blood to drink.

It is what they deserve!”

And I heard ethe altar saying,

“Yes, Lord God the Almighty,

ftrue and just are your judgments!”

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people gwith fire. They were scorched by the fierce heat, and hthey cursed2 the name of God who had power over these plagues. iThey did not repent jand give him glory.

The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.

The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:

“You are just in these judgments, O Holy One,

you who are and who were;

for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,

and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”

And I heard the altar respond:

“Yes, Lord God Almighty,

true and just are your judgments.”

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, causing it to scorch everyone with its fire. Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory.

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and he was given power to burn the people with fire. They were burned by the great heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these disasters. But the people refused to change their hearts and lives and give glory to God.

The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun. The sun was allowed to burn people with fire. They were severely burned. They cursed the name of God, who has the authority over these plagues. They would not change the way they think and act and give him glory.

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun. The sun was allowed to burn people with fire. They were burned by the blazing heat. So they spoke evil things against the name of God, who controlled these plagues. But they refused to turn away from their sins. They did not give glory to God.
